Alice Disney Heroes Card

Alice Disney Heroes Card from Sainsbury.

2019 giveaway by the supermarket, who say:

There are a total of 144 Heroes cards including 36 special edition cards.

So I’m very lucky that my lovely nephew Owen had a duplicate of Alice and decided to give it to me. Thanks Owen!

From Sainsbury’s website:

Running from the 21st August until 2nd October, the campaign will bring Disney, Pixar, Star Wars™ and Marvel heroes together.  Customers will be able to get their hands on an exclusive collectors album along with 144 cards all based on characters from the stories

Based around the theme of ‘unlock the hero in you’, the album and cards are packed full of facts, games and challenges ranging from Eating Well, and Getting Active and Being Smart to Expressing Yourself, Doing Good and Teaming Up to help keep children entertained and active over the summer.  Each challenge is associated with a different Disney Hero – from Marvel’s Incredible Hulk helping children eat well and Pixar’s The Incredibles showing how you can get active.

The albums will be on sale for £2.50 with two free card packs being given to get people’s collection started. Customers will also receive one free pack of four cards for every £10 they spend in store or online and for those wanting to expand their collection, booster trading card packs will be available for 50p.  To encourage healthier eating, an extra pack is also up for grabs when customers purchase Sainsbury’s Mini Easy Peelers, mini bananas, mini apples or mini pears*, to help encourage eating well. Sainsbury’s Travel Money Bureaus will also be offering one free pack of trading cards for every £100 spent.

Cards can be traded and swapped with other children to help complete the set.  In addition, there are some special effect cards that sparkle, glow in the dark, and have a secret picture beneath a rub-away surface.

Mark Given, Chief Marketing Officer, Sainsbury’s, said: “This incredible collaboration is bringing the world of Disney Heroes to Sainsbury’s stores for the first time via these special albums and cards.  We can’t wait to see collectors make their own fruit-inspired lightsaber, dance like Groot, or find the glittering Elsa card.  We’re proud to showcase through this campaign that being a hero is not just about being strong and fast, but about being kind, working with others, being expressive, and being smart.”

The Disney Heroes campaign at Sainsbury’s runs until the 2nd October 2019.

The Alice card has a heat sensitive portion on the rose and iris, which change from black to coloured with the heat of a finger rubbed over the area.
