Alice in Wonderland: GAF Talking View-Master Reels.
Three reels for the view-master, plus a small book telling the story of Alice, all in a plastic tray with a cardboard sleeve.
View-Masters are stereoscopes which work by inserting the reels- thin cardboard disks containing pairs of photos- into a slot on top of the device. Looking though the View-Master gives a 3D effect.
The View-Master was first produced in 1939, and the first ‘talking’ versions were released in 1970. Judging by the photos on the back of the packaging, they were cumbersome beasts.
There’s a YouTube video showing the Alice reels (no 3D, obviously) here.
