Mad Hatter Card

s-l1600Mad Hatter Card: Bear’s Super Species School.

I can’t find out a lot about this, but it seems to be a card given away in 2015 with Bear Yoyo snacks. Collect enough, and you can play the game… I’m not sure where I got it: I think I found it somewhere, but that seems rather too random so I wonder if someone donated it.

Their website seems to be skating on the edge of Rowling plagiarism, but it’s fun. I’m in Wizentail, apparently.

Back of the card gives facts about hares- apparently the mad hatter is a hare in Super Squad land.

Hillman’s Tearoom leaflet

Hillman’s Tearoom leaflet: Mad Hatters, Magic Cakes & Secret Doors.

Leaflet advertising the 2015 E17 Art Trail event at the lovely Hillman’s Tearoom.

Back reads:

Lewis Carrol’s Alice in Wonderland is 150 years old this year, and Hillman’s Tearoom invites you to tumble down the rabbit hole with a special E17 event.

Blending storytelling, decoration and spectacle, we aim to create a little of the magic of the Mad Hatter’s tea party. You can expect the unexpected but prepare to be entertained- and maybe a bit freaked out too. It wouldn’t be Wonderland if it didn’t get ‘curiouser and curiouser’.

wonderland authority customs and immigration card

fullsizerender-1Wonderland Authority Customs and Immigration Card.

Card given out at the 2015 production of Alice’s Adventures Underground.

The production was staged in the Vaults underneath Waterloo Station, and it’s back on for 2017:

“There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of Wonder, Mystery and Danger”

Lewis Carroll, 1865

Les Enfants Terribles invite you to that very place with Alice’s Adventures Underground. Only it’s not just Alice’s adventure, it’s yours…

In the Vaults deep underneath Waterloo Station discover Wonderland in all its nonsensical glory. Journey down the rabbit hole to gorge on cakes that will have you bumping your head on the ceiling, smoke a pipe with the Caterpillar as he tells you his psychedelic tale and take tea with the maddest of Hatters; all whilst trying to avoid losing your head at the hands of the fearsome Queen of Hearts.

Following the huge success and the Oliver Award nomination of the initial run in 2015, the show will return in all it’s glory! Staged in the atmospheric Vaults underneath Waterloo station, Alice’s Adventures Underground creates Wonderland as a fully formed world that blends storytelling, live music, puppetry, circus and spectacle. Invited down the rabbit hole in intimate groups, each audience member will be presented with a choice of EAT ME or DRINK ME, which will affect the way their show will unfold…

Make your choice and find yourself at the center of the story as you wander through Wonderland, piecing together the puzzle to search for Alice who is lost in the looking glass.

Experience immersion like never before in this interactive, puppetry-packed, fusion of storytelling, music, circus and spectacle.

It’s grfullsizerender-2eat fun- I did it twice, once following ‘Eat Me’, and once ‘Drink Me’, but as you’re also split into groups by suit, I’m still not sure I saw everything.

It was an amazing setting too, and the themed cocktails at the end were expensive but fun.
The card gave admission for four to the bar until the end of the run. Maybe it’ll even work for the new season…

The website is cool. Check it out here.

Alice in Wonderland: GAF Talking View-Master Reels

fullsizerenderAlice in Wonderland: GAF Talking View-Master Reels.

Three reels for the view-master, plus a small book telling the story of Alice, all in a plastic tray with a cardboard sleeve.

View-Masters are stereoscopes which work by inserting the reels- thin cardboard disks containing pairs of photos- into a slot on top of the device. Looking though the View-Master gives a 3D effect.

The View-Master was first produced in 1939, and the first ‘talking’ versions were released in 1970. Judging by the photos on the back of the packaging, they were cumbersome beasts.

There’s a YouTube video showing the Alice reels (no 3D, obviously) here.
