Willy Schermelé born in Amsterdam in 1904, and was an illustrator and writer of children’s books, and of comic strips. She was also an illustrator for the daily Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, where she made fashion drawings for the women’s pages and illustrations and stories for the children’s pages.
